before you begin: 

take some time to open your space and prepare your physical, emotional, and spiritual bodies to enter into this ritual. if you'd like, listen to our opening meditation to help you prepare for the sacred connection offered by this ritual. 

if you need to, take some additional time to align your focus and your space in preparation for your ritual. light a candle, some incense, dim the lights, minimize distractions etc. as you begin your first ritual.

• on a long nature walk, find something beautiful to burn, then write or draw a personal story. visualize the story as you create it. burn the letter with natural beauty, focus on the flame, and keep some of the ash.
• in the past people would make ash amulets for protection against lightening strikes (since their homes were made of wood) but now they are seen just as a home protection practice.
• the moon card acts as a form of protection in that it reminds us that there are hidden elements that we often overlook when making decisions. research before acting. place your amulet on your alter as a visual reminder to find out everything you can and think things through before taking action; more information or consideration is often needed.
